The lazy days of summer

I love summer, and the lack of scheduling that goes on. I have started reading Anne of Green Gables with the girls and they are loving it (although I don't think they understand half of what I read to them, the author is annoyingly detailed). So, we fill our days with reading, movies, Barbie.com, games, arts and crafts, swing sets, parks, and friends. Does anyone have any fun ideas that they do with their kids during the summer that I could try out? Please share.
Hope you are having a happy summer.
Christy

Your blog looks so adorable. I love it! We've had a crazy June so it almost seems like true Summer will start in July for us. I personally love the popsicles and running through the sprinklers!

I love the new look of the blog. It looks great. I need to update mine into a cute something or other but don't know where to get it from. I did post today for you. It's nothing big but some cute pictures. I'm sorry there wasn't the perfect bedspread for you yesterday. I will still be looking for you just in case. Good luck. I don't know anything out of the norm for summer activities. I am needing inspiration myself. I'll check back and read other people's comments for some good ideas.

You are so great trying to come up with new ideas. I try and do a small craft with them once a week, they seem to look forward to it. We also put envelopes with all our names on it and through out the week I try and get the kids to put a note in someones envelope. They love running to see if they have anything, and it also gives them a chance to watch for nice things each other do.

What a cute page! I like your summer post. I feel like our life has been so crazy that summer is just barely starting and we are a little out of sorts. Your ideas sound fun--especially the Anne of Green Gables! Here is my addition--my favorite summer we got together with friends and had an "adventure" every week. We invited anyone who wanted to go and found freebies that we could all enjoy. Usually it was a picnic to a state park involving water in some way (canoing, creek walking, etc.) Sometimes it was just a new playground or something in the city. One time my friend found a listing about a free day to watch horse shows out in the country. It was hard to keep the kids quiet, but they totally loved it and it didn't cost a thing. I don't know much about this area, but if any of you are up for something like that, please let us know and we would love to join!

This summer has been exceptionally quiet for us so far, but I guess that happens when you have a baby in the middle of it. We'll have to have our adventures another year. Your's look like fun, though.

It was so fun seeing you last week. We've missed you guys.

Wow, fancy new cute blog! Awesome job, Christy! And - that is one of my all-time favorite songs playing, "When You Say Nothing at All." Hey, I just have a request - for safety reasons I never post our last name or our location online. Would you please change the link on your sidebar to just Sabra or Bryan and Sabra or Sleepless Sabra (my blog title)? But thanks for linking me! :)
